Anywhere in the world, people in power will do everything they can to benefit the community or society that they are responsible for. Whether it be governments, mayors, or school principals, those in a position of authority must bear the burden of responsibility to ensure the success and safety of their respective communities. Unicaf University is introducing a new programme to its roster that is designed to teach students the art and science of how to ensure the security and well-being of their communities, as well as how to face international challenges: the BA in Public Administration and International Relations.
This programme is structured around two major pillars of study: Public Administration and International Relations. It is a multi-disciplinary programme addressing key domestic and international challenges, issues and approaches to a range of concepts pertaining to Administration, Public Services, Public and International Organisations, International Politics, History, Economics and Law.
Fundamentally, public administration involves the skillful management and strategic handling of public programmes and policies to ensure their efficient implementation for the welfare of society. Students delve into the convergence of politics, economics, and social well-being, gaining a deep understanding of the decision-making processes that influence our communities. Whether it’s overseeing public finances or formulating sustainable policies, every aspect of the programme contributes as a foundation for a career committed to advancing the common good.
Alongside Public Administration, the multi-disciplinary programme also teaches International Relations. International relations seeks to delve into how states engage with one another in the global arena, as well as how individuals and groups within a state interact with members of other countries. In essence, it aims to understand behaviours that transcend state borders, the larger contexts in which such behaviors unfold, and the diverse institutions—ranging from private and governmental to non-governmental and intergovernmental—that regulate these interactions.
Together, these topics combined will form the new Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration and International Relations that Unicaf University is excited to offer to all its students.
The four-year programme will lead students on an academic journey that will start by teaching the fundamentals of public administration and international relations, to set the foundation for the advanced and more specialised modules of the following years, including Public International Law, Ethics of Public Policy and Propaganda: The Power of Manipulation, and coming together in a large final year project.
Overall, the course aims to provide students with a fusion of knowledge, skills and intellectual preparation necessary for one’s success as a public administration and international relations future professional.
