Unicaf University is proud to introduce its Bachelor in Occupational Health and Safety Management programme. This programme is designed to equip students with the technical and managerial knowledge and skills necessary to oversee the implementation of occupational health and safety management systems, as well as the mitigation of risks associated with physical/mental health damage in any business setting.

Occupational health and safety management is a vital component of any workplace, spanning across all sectors. Uncontrolled workplace factors ranging from office etiquette to the simple misuse of office equipment can lead to safety hazards that may risk occupational mental health deterioration or physical injuries, emphasising the critical need for effective occupational health and safety management systems.

Year 1

The programme commences with foundational courses in academic writing, computer systems, and management principles. Students dive into introductory courses such as Introduction to Health and Safety, Labor Law and Social Security, and Safety Management and Health and Safety Legislation, laying the groundwork for their understanding of occupational health and safety principles and regulations.

In their third year, students deepen their understanding of human factors and ergonomics, essential components of occupational health and safety management. Courses in psychology, sociology, and organisational behaviour provide students with insights into the human dynamics at play in the workplace, both physical and interpersonal, while courses in research methods and ethics prepare them for conducting independent research and ethical decision-making.

Year 4

In their final year, students engage in advanced coursework covering topics such as Fire Prevention and Protection Planning, Occupational Health and Safety Training Methods, and Occupational Health and Safety for Disability. They will also explore ISO 45001:2018 Quality Management System of OSH, ensuring they are well-versed in international standards and best practices in occupational health and safety management.
