Unicaf University Graduate Conference 2022

The Second Unicaf University Graduate Conference was held over 5 days in March 2022. It was attended by over 500 delegates from more than 60 countries.

The conference featured 32 oral presentations, 12 poster presentations, 2 workshops and 3 plenary discussions.

The first plenary presentation featured Dr Georgia Sakka Vronti, the Dean of the School of Business (Federal), who delivered a talk titled ‘Is employee high-quality service a competitive advantage in the hospitality industry?’

The second plenary session was delivered by Dr Robert Ridley, the Vice-Chancellor of Unicaf University in Malawi and centred on the topic of a potential role for Unicaf in African-driven innovation and economic development.

Following Dr Ridley’s insightful plenary presentation, Dr Chrysa Tamisoglou, a faculty member at Unicaf University, presented on ‘The leader of my dreams is…”: Exploring future educators’ perspectives of leadership.’

There were also two workshops conducted during the conference. The first workshop, titled ‘Research Methods in Business,’ was facilitated by Dr Evangelos Tsoukatos, a faculty member at Unicaf University. The second workshop, focusing on ‘Research Methods in Education and Social Sciences,’ was led by Dr Nalita James, faculty, Unicaf University.

During the Award Ceremony that followed the conference, the distinction for the best presentation was conferred upon Oliver Ombeva Malande for his oral presentation titled ‘Drivers of Vaccine Hesitancy and Underimmunization among Children of Hoima and Wakiso Districts of Uganda.’ The award for the best poster presentation was earned by Opeyemi A. Amos-Amao, whose presentation was titled ‘Effective Pedagogy in Nigerian Secondary Schools.’
