Study Like A Pro

Do you want to study like a pro? Well you’ve come to the right place.Studying is our business, it’s our livelihood, it’s what makes UNICAF tick. More importantly, you, our students, you are what makes UNICAF tick, so we want to be sure you’re studying to the best of your abilities.

In fact, to be completely frank, we believe we can extend those abilities, take them beyond what you know, and what you think you know!

So in today’s blog, that’s exactly what we’ll be looking at. Today’s blog is all about hints and tips for effective studying that are tried and tested, known to work as effectively as can possibly be.

So, without further ado, let’s get down to business.

  1. Do you have a designated study area? You have to make sure that you have a study area that is entirely yours, a desk somewhere that is specifically for you and your studies. This helps the mind focus, it links the area of study to the idea of studying in your mind, so when you get close to the desk, your brain is primed and ready for action.
  2. What about dedicated notebooks? You need to have dedicated notebooks for all of your subjects so that you can easily refer back to and reference everything that you note down. One subject, one notebook, got it? Good!
  3. Are you proficient at timing your study periods? Generally you should be working on Pomodoro Time. Now you’re probably wondering what Pomodoro Time is; well you study for 25 minutes, then 5 minutes off, then 25 minutes on and so forth. You do this for 3 rounds, then you make the 4th round’s break 15 minutes before starting the cycle again. This ensures you don’t tire out your mind, making sure that you’re absorbing all the information you need in short, manageable and highly productive snippets.

More tips next week..stay tuned!
