The UNICAF Mauritius Office organised its very first student social activity in August. UNICAF students, doing Master’s degree programmes with UNICAF partner universities, enjoyed a memorable day cruising the azure waters of the island’s northern coastline on a catamaran. After meeting at the UNICAF Office the group headed to the beach. And even though weather conditions were far from ideal, all students enjoyed the bonding experience of cruising rough seas together with fellow UNICAF students, exchanging views and getting to know one another.
There are currently more than 100 Mauritian students studying with UNICAF and its partner universities. The grand success of the event ensures that it will be followed by many other student activities in Mauritius.
A rich portfolio of online degree programmes is available through UNICAF. Partner universities include the University of South Wales in the UK, the University of Nicosia in Europe and Unicaf University in Africa. UNICAF offers generous scholarships, which can cover up to 80% of tuition fees in certain cases. UNICAF’s state of the art Virtual Learning Environment enables students to access study material from anywhere in the world, at any time that is convenient to them, and to interact with tutors, fellow students and administrators. Studying for a quality degree with a reputable university is affordable and easy with UNICAF.
UNICAF plans to open a learning centre in Mauritius, aiming to provide local students with a variety of options including blended, part-time and full time study modes. UNICAF has recently introduced two new programmes: the Level 6 Diploma in Accounting and Financial Management from an Ofqual approved British Awarding Body, leading to 9 ACCA exemptions in the examinations to become a certified accountant, as well as the MSc in Public Health of the University Of South Wales for health professionals and individuals aspiring to a career in the health sector.
