Kitengela, Kenya – November 10, 2024 – Unicaf, the leading provider of online higher education in Africa, recently participated in the free climate medical camp in Kitengela organised by the Najimudu Empowerment Initiative, held from November 6-10, 2024, at the Full Gospel Church Kitengela. The event, which aimed to offer essential medical services and promote health awareness, attracted a large turnout from the local community.
In addition to providing medical consultations and health screenings, the event featured a tree-planting ceremony aimed at raising environmental awareness. The opening ceremony was graced by Winnie Rachel, Country Manager in Kenya, who addressed attendees, highlighting Unicaf’s commitment to supporting community health and sustainability. The event also saw participation from representatives of the Kitengela Prisons, further demonstrating the collective effort towards environmental conservation.
Unicaf’s participation in the medical camp also served as an opportunity to raise awareness about its diverse educational programmes, particularly in the fields of health and sustainability. The event generated 30 new leads, showcasing strong community interest in educational opportunities offered by Unicaf. Attendees expressed a particular interest in caregiving courses, prompting Unicaf to explore the potential of introducing specialised caregiving programmes, like Unicaf University’s Master of Public Health programme, to address the growing demand for professional caregiving skills in the local healthcare sector.
The Najimudu Climate Medical Camp was not only an opportunity for Unicaf to engage with the community but also to contribute to the local health and environmental efforts. The event proved to be a success, generating positive feedback from attendees and strengthening Unicaf’s relationships within the local healthcare sector.
