Unicaf held a remarkable Open Day event at the Crowne Plaza Monomotapa Hotel in Harare, attracting a diverse gathering of prospective students, partners and representatives from various organisations. The event highlighted the transformative opportunities available through Unicaf’s unique online platform, designed to make quality higher education accessible across Africa and beyond.
The Open Day was attended by esteemed dignitaries, including the Honourable Monica Mutsvangwa, Minister of Women Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprises Development and the Chief Director of Women Affairs, Mrs Lilian Matsika Takaendesa, who delivered an inspiring keynote address. Mrs Takaendesa spoke about the importance of education in empowering individuals and communities, acknowledging Unicaf’s efforts in providing flexible, quality education options. She praised Unicaf’s initiatives and expressed the Ministry’s full support for future partnerships.
The Open Day was divided into two main sections, giving attendees insights into the unique educational offerings available through Unicaf and providing a platform for meaningful discussions. Empowered Women Trust’s director, Sibonokuhle Buhlugu, spoke passionately about the ongoing partnership with Unicaf, which is formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). She shared how this partnership aligns with their mission of empowering individuals through accessible education, encouraging attendees to take advantage of Unicaf’s extensive programme offerings.
Representatives from various NGOs, membership-based organisations, and individual attendees from across Zimbabwe and Southern Africa attended the event. This gathering of like-minded individuals facilitated networking and opened doors for potential collaborations with Unicaf, fostering new partnerships that will further strengthen educational accessibility in the region.
Attendees at the Open Day were introduced to Unicaf’s state-of-the-art online learning platform, which has already empowered thousands of students across Africa. The platform’s design is tailored to meet the needs of students balancing work, family, and other responsibilities. By providing a flexible, accessible, and supportive learning environment, Unicaf enables students to earn internationally recognised qualifications from prestigious partner universities without leaving their home countries.
