Unicaf recently made a remarkable contribution to education by donating a 5000-litre water tank to Brilliant Angel Education Centre in Nairobi on July 14th, 2023. This act of kindness has addressed one of the significant challenges faced by the school, paving the way for improved water and sanitation facilities.
Situated in the heart of the Githogoro Slums, Brilliant Angel Education Centre has been striving to provide quality education to 268 students from economically underprivileged backgrounds. However, limited resources and a lack of proper infrastructure have hindered their efforts. Access to clean water and proper sanitation remained a critical concern, impacting the students’ health and dignity, as well as their ability to concentrate on their studies.
Recognising the urgent need for a solution, Unicaf stepped forward to make a difference. The donation of the 5000-litre water tank has not only provided the school with a sustainable water source but has also brought a renewed sense of hope and joy to the students. This essential installation ensures that the teachers and students can work and learn in an environment that promotes proper hygiene, safe drinking water, and improved sanitation.
By addressing these fundamental needs, Unicaf has significantly contributed to reducing waterborne illnesses that affect the students and teachers, allowing them to focus on their education and maximise their learning potential. The provision of clean water and improved sanitation facilities not only enhances the educational journey of the students but also uplifts their overall quality of life.
