July 24th, 2024 – Unicaf, the leading online higher education provider in Africa, participated in and supported The Women In Development Summit in Lagos, Nigeria, on July 20th, 2024.
The Women in Development Summit was organised by Ideation Hub Africa, an NGO and a partner of ours, and the theme of the event was: “Visionaries of Impact: Women Redefining Global Development”. From education, to energy, to healthcare, to tech, to agriculture, to economic empowerment, it explored how women have “taken the lead in shaping impactful progress of the present world and future.”
The aim of the summit was to provide a conscious conversation on the pioneering efforts of women who are reshaping the landscape of global development as well as showcase the transformative power of female leadership in tackling the world’s most pressing challenges.
The founder of Women In Leadership Advancement Network (WILAN), Mrs. Abosede George-Ogan was present at the event, alongside other prominent women in the Non-governmental organisations space. Unicaf’s Jennifer Eziamaka and Elizabeth Daramola presented on the importance of capacity building and promoting higher education, after which there were questions from the audience about our mode of operation, and how interested applicants could apply.
We were able to connect with the attendees and provided information to them about the Unicaf scholarship programme, the opportunities for online study at a fraction of the cost, the flexible payment plans that Unicaf offers and the internationally recognised degrees awarded by Unicaf leading and prestigious partner universities, the University of East London, Liverpool John Moores University and the University of Suffolk in the UK, the University of California – Riverside Extension in the USA and Unicaf University in Africa.
The event was a resounding success and we hope we were able to inspire many women to impact global development through education and pursue their dream degree with Unicaf or at least consider pursuing their dream degree with Unicaf.
