Meet Your Student Advisers: Leah Kamanga – Lusaka Call Centre

“The greatest challenge we face daily is bad internet connections when trying to contact applicants in remote areas  and the best reward is when an applicant is efficient and by the second contact call they have already uploaded their documents and transcripts for evaluation.. “

Leah Kamanga – Student Adviser at the UNICAF Call Centre in Lusaka, Zambia

A UNICAF Student Adviser provides information to applicants interested in online studies and scholarships and helps them through the application process until they are registered as students and even beyond, until they graduate.

To work in this position one must be polite, patient, have a good all round knowledge about the programmes offered by partner universities through UNICAF

One of my funniest moments was when an applicant could not decide how old he was, alternating between the ages of 20 and 23, apparently his age was reduced when getting his National Registration Card!

The greatest challenge we face daily is bad internet connections when trying to contact applicants in remote areas and the best reward is when an applicant is efficient and by the second contact call, they have already uploaded their documents and transcripts for evaluation and have paid the application fee. When this is done we can only pray that they finally secure a place in their chosen degree programme.
