Meet Your Student Advisers: Dorine Mayiani, Nairobi Call Centre

“The best reward that we have while interacting with an applicant is when they thank us for advising and guiding them through the application process, all the way until they enroll on the degree programme they have selected. It feels good when someone appreciates you for the good job you are doing.”

Dorine Mayiani, Student Adviser at the UNICAF Call Centre in Nairobi, Kenya

UNICAF student advisers assist applicants with the application procedure and to help them apply for a scholarship. We also provide general information about UNICAF, as well as guide applicants in choosing the most suitable study programme. We need to have excellent written and verbal communication skills and a good command of the English language.

The greatest challenge on this job is when applicants go back on their word, and instead of making the necessary payments they just disappear. It’s very disappointing when this happens, especially after all the hard work we put in for every single applicant.
