Dr. Wayne and Peg Bemis have generously provided an annual scholarship to Marymount California University to help support an upper division student with financial need. Preference is given to a student who is working, since Dr. Bemis has worked from age 11 and appreciates the many students who work while attending Marymount.Dr. Bemis and his wife are longtime residents of Rolling Hills, where they raised their two sons. Dr. Bemis graduated in 1963 from USC, where he still teaches at the dental school, and opened his Torrance dental practice in 1969.
The Bemis’ have a son and grandson who both attended Marymount California University and they have a grandson who is currently attending Marymount. They are one of 300 other families who have sent more than one family member to MCU. They firmly believe in the mission of Marymount and the educational experiences the University provides to its students. The Bemis’ have, therefore, decided to leave a financial legacy at Marymount with an estate gift, as well as a donation of artwork for the campus community to enjoy. Their gift, in addition to the artwork, is valued at $100,000.
