Unicaf University in Zambia hosted its second Open Day for the year 2022 which was welcomed with much anticipation and excitement.
Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Dr Lameck Mwewa, inaugurated the proceedings with his opening remarks, welcoming the participants. This was followed by two presentations; the first from Call Centre Supervisor, Ms Wamusheke Nyambe, who introduced the various programmes on offer at Unicaf University as well as the UK partner universities.
A fascinating presentation on the state-of-the-art Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) and student support was introduced by the Dean of Students and Lecturer, Ms Abigail Nachilima Chalwe. The VLE is a digital learning platform integrating a working space for educational and business processes allowing learners and teachers to work together while ensuring user security and privacy.
Characterised by several activities including presentations followed by Q & A sessions, a tour of the Unicaf University campus, one-on-one sessions with student advisors with even time for the opportunity to relax over lunch and engage with prospective students, the Open Day was a clear triumph. The success of this second Open Day proves that events such as these are incredibly beneficial for potential students who want to engage with other like-minded individuals and meet their potential classmates.
