In recognition of World Mental Health Day, Unicaf University organised a Mental Health Day Tour to the Great North Road Rehab Centre in Lusaka, Zambia on 8th October 2025, bringing together students and staff for an afternoon dedicated to emotional well-being, teamwork, and self-awareness.
The initiative reflected Unicaf University’s ongoing commitment to holistic education, encouraging participants to reflect on the importance of mental health while engaging in activities that promote balance, resilience, and connection.
Over the three-hour session, attendees took part in a series of interactive and educational activities facilitated by professionals from the Rehab Centre. The programme included icebreakers, team-building sessions, temperament tests, and a work-life balance workshop, followed by a stress management starter pack designed to offer practical self-care tools.
The event created a relaxed yet purposeful environment where both students and staff could learn, share, and grow together. Participants reported that the experience was refreshing, insightful, and inspiring, helping them understand how to better manage academic and personal responsibilities while maintaining a healthy mindset.
By collaborating with the Great North Road Rehab Centre, Unicaf University strengthened its support for mental wellness and reinforced its role as an institution that prioritises both academic excellence and emotional well-being.
The 2025 Mental Health Day Tour not only raised awareness about mental health issues but also deepened the sense of community within the University, encouraging ongoing dialogue and continued initiatives focused on mental wellness.
