Well known and much-loved afro-soul singer, guitarist and Unicaf University student, Faith Mussa, has become the Ambassador of Unicaf University in Malawi. Having recently enrolled for a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) programme, the popular artist offered his services to the University as its Ambassador, an opportunity that both parties fully embraced immediately.
Speaking to media representatives at the press conference to announce Mussa’s new role, the University’s Vice-Chancellor, Dr Robert Ridley expressed joy for having the popular artist act as an Ambassador of the academic institution. “Combining art and popular culture with social responsibility and action, Faith represents the positive potential of Malawian youth”, said the Vice-Chancellor, and went on to mention Faith’s wider interests in other areas, such as in the fight against corruption, in advocating children’s rights and in promoting a perspective of global awareness. Dr Ridley stressed that: “Even with a successful music career, Faith Mussa recognises the value of education.”
Faith Mussa expressed excitement for becoming an Ambassador for Unicaf University and said he is happy that the MBA degree he is pursuing is recognised by NCHE and that Unicaf University in Malawi is accredited by the British Accreditation Council in the UK. He also commended the flexibility of online learning which allows him to contact fellow students and professors, as well as complete and submit assignments 24/7, from any part of the world he may be performing at any given time, simply by connecting with the Unicaf digital platform via the Internet. Faith Mussa expressed the hope that he will be able to inspire many more Malawians to turn to online education, in order to earn new and higher qualifications, increase their knowledge and skills and build their professional future.
