Unicaf University successfully concluded a three-day Digital Skills Training programme from 27th to 29th August 2025, aimed at equipping prospective university students with essential digital skills and providing insight into the university’s academic offerings and scholarship opportunities.
The training, held at the Unicaf University Amphitheatre and computer lab on the university campus in Lilongwe, attracted significant interest from participants eager to enhance their digital literacy as they embark on their higher education journey. The initiative also served as a platform to raise awareness about Unicaf University and its diverse programmes.
The event was spearheaded by Unicaf University representatives, Mercy Diniwa, Cynthia Kadewa, and Queen Phiri. The sessions were facilitated by Mrs Queen Phiri, a Computer Science lecturer, who involved her final-year students as supervisors to monitor participants’ progress across various tasks and activities. This hands-on approach not only ensured effective learning but also provided a practical leadership and mentorship experience for the student supervisors, reflecting a growing trend of student involvement in campus initiatives.
The goal of this training was to equip school leavers with foundational digital skills while showcasing the academic and scholarship opportunities available at Unicaf University. Through this initiative, Unicaf University continues to demonstrate its commitment to providing quality, internationally recognised education while fostering practical skills and community engagement among students.
