The Uganda Vice Chancellors’ Forum welcomed its most recent member, Unicaf University, on January 16, 2023. The Forum brings together all Vice-Chancellors and Heads of Degree-Awarding Institutions in Uganda that are accredited and listed by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE).
The Forum was founded in 1997 as a collaborative symposium of higher education institutions in order to ‘enhance sharing of knowledge, information and practices among members; to advise/engage Government departments including NCHE, members of Parliament and other relevant organisations in promoting policies for University and Higher Education; and to engage in knowledge dissemination through publications. ‘
In response to the partnership, Unicaf University’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor George Nasinyama stated, ‘I am delighted to join hands with my colleagues the Vice-Chancellors as a forum in the noble effort of advocacy, and knowledge-sharing and dissemination with the ultimate goal of producing quality human resource, not only for Uganda but the region and globally.‘
He went on to applaud Unicaf University’s membership: ‘My conviction is that Unicaf University will certainly benefit from this membership, among others, by ensuring that its voice is heard in advocating and shaping a better higher education policy landscape in the country. ‘
