The Strathmore University Auditorium came alive on June 24th at the Unicaf sponsored Kenya Model United Nations (MUN) annual Warm Up Challenge, a thrilling trivia competition aimed at broadening participants’ understanding of global issues. The event, which attracted 100+ participants, provided an informal, interactive and competitive platform for members to showcase their knowledge and engage in spirited debates.
The Warm Up Challenge witnessed the enthusiastic participation of teams from diverse backgrounds, each consisting of four individuals. These teams eagerly contested against each other, answering a wide range of questions on UN-related matters, Model United Nations, and global affairs. The event proved to be a remarkable opportunity for participants to enhance their knowledge while fostering camaraderie and teamwork.
Unicaf’s commitment to empowering youth was evident through their provision of two branded Unicaf tablets and two trophies for the winners. During the event’s opening ceremony, Winnie Rachael, Communication and Marketing Manager of Unicaf Kenya, emphasised the importance of upskilling in education. She also highlighted Unicaf’s role in providing a platform for young individuals to pursue online education and the organisation’s instrumental support for Kenya Model UN.
A key highlight of the event was the engaging question and answer session focused specifically on Unicaf scholarships. Attendees had the opportunity to address their inquiries and gain insights into Unicaf’s scholarship programmes, showcasing the organisation’s commitment to facilitating educational opportunities for a wider audience. This session also underscored the valuable partnership between Unicaf and Kenya Model UN, further strengthening their shared mission of nurturing knowledge and global citizenship among the youth.
