Unicaf, the leading higher education provider in Africa, is proud to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Medicines Control Authority of Zimbabwe (MCAZ), a statutory body responsible for regulating and ensuring the safety and efficacy of all medicines and related products in the country. This landmark agreement will provide MCAZ staff members with access to Unicaf’s prestigious scholarship programme, allowing them to enrol in internationally recognised degree programmes from Unicaf’s partner universities.
The signing ceremony took place at the MCAZ offices and was attended by representatives from both organisations. Douglas Mahere, Business Development Manager, signed the MoU on behalf of Unicaf, while Dr Tendayi Munhenga, MCAZ’s Head of Human Resources, signed on behalf of MCAZ.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Douglas Mahere emphasised the importance of education in today’s fast-changing world. “This partnership with MCAZ is an important milestone for Unicaf, as it aligns with our mission to make higher education more accessible and affordable for professionals across Africa. We are confident that this collaboration will empower MCAZ staff members to pursue academic excellence and contribute further to the critical work they do in safeguarding public health.”
Dr Munhenga was also kind enough to share a statement about this partnership:
“The Authority conveys its profound gratitude and appreciation for the educational scholarship bestowed upon it by Unicaf. This rare opportunity shall indeed, go a long way in augmenting the acquisition of key knowledge, skills and competencies by the Authority’s human capital as well as enable the realisation of their professional and educational ambitions.
At the same time, the Unicaf scholarship opportunity has come at a momentous time when the Authority was in the midst of driving its vision and mission in so far as, the effective and efficient regulation of medical products and allied substances in Zimbabwe was concerned.
As far as the educational journeys of its employees were concerned, the Authority is optimistic and committed to making the most out of the scholarship opportunity, going forward.”
This MoU is part of Unicaf’s broader mission to expand access to affordable, quality education across Africa by partnering with organisations and institutions committed to professional development and capacity-building. The online learning platform offered by Unicaf is designed to meet the needs of working professionals, allowing them to balance their studies with their career and personal commitments.
