Unicaf has partnered with the Kenya Healthcare Federation through a mutually beneficial collaboration focused on providing scholarship opportunities to KHF medical practitioners. The terms of this agreement offers all members a guaranteed Unicaf Scholarship to study for Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees.
This agreement will give all KHF members the opportunity to experience the highest quality tertiary education at a fraction of the cost. In addition it will allow members to obtain an internationally recognised academic degree from one of Unicaf’s UK partner universities; Liverpool John Moores University, the University of East London, and the University of Suffolk.
In front of media representatives, which included Citizen TV, Nation Media Group, The Star Newspaper, KTN News and Radio Africa, Unicaf’s Business Development Manager, Samson Kithika, stressed that the partnership will benefit interested healthcare professionals and their families. “It is an opportunity for them to improve their skills,” he said.
Mr Kithika urged healthcare providers to apply for the opportunities, pointing out that the model is flexible. “In the market there is a big uptake for medical professionals wanting to advance their studies, you’ll be able to practice, study and advance your work life,” he said.
The Chairperson of KHF, Dr Kanyenje Gakombe, pointed out in his opening speech, that most practitioners, due to time constraints, unfortunately do not get a chance to further their studies as most are unable to balance work and family as well as studying.
Dr Gakombe urged KHF members to take up the opportunity and submit their applications. “I understand how important it is to provide flexible learning for those who have to combine work, family and money together,” he said.
In closing, Dr Gakombe reiterated that, “the most attractive professionals in this field are those that have higher qualifications. We cannot emphasise enough the need to allow our professionals to advance their studies.”
