Watamu, Kenya – 4th-6th September 2024: Unicaf, the leading provider of online, quality higher education in Africa, is proud to announce its active participation in the East Africa Law Society (EALS) Conference, held at the prestigious Hemingways Hotel in Watamu. The conference, which brought together 120 legal professionals from across East Africa—including South Sudan, Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, and Rwanda—along with 92 virtual attendees, provided a vital platform for discussing the future of the legal profession in the region.

Prominent speakers at the conference included distinguished figures such as Professor Githu Muigai, former Attorney General of Kenya, and Faith Odhiambo, President of the Law Society of Kenya, whose insights enriched the discussions on pressing legal issues and challenges facing East Africa’s legal sector.

Unicaf’s Country Manager, Winnie Rachael, delivered a keynote address, spotlighting the institution’s innovative approach to empowering legal professionals through accessible, flexible education. Her speech underscored the advantages of Unicaf’s online programmes and its strong partnership with EALS, highlighting the potential for legal practitioners to enhance their careers with advanced qualifications.

A major highlight of the event was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Unicaf and the East Africa Law Society. The partnership represents a significant step forward in expanding access to world-class legal education for professionals across the region.
