Unicaf proudly participated in the Men in HR Conference, held from 22nd to 27th September 2025 at the Sarova Whitesands Hotel, Mombasa. The professional forum brought together Human Resource leaders, practitioners and experts from a variety of sectors to explore the future of HR leadership against a backdrop of evolving workplace dynamics, technological advancements and generational shifts.
The conference provided a valuable platform for stakeholders to re-examine current HR practices and leadership approaches, with a focus on aligning strategies with emerging global trends. Unicaf’s involvement reflected its strategic objective to engage with HR professionals, promote continuous learning, and foster collaborations that strengthen capacity building and talent development across organisations.
Unicaf was represented by Ms Winnie Rachael, Country Manager for Kenya, who joined a panel discussion on the theme “Rethinking HR Leadership Styles for the Next Decade.”
Ms Rachael highlighted how HR leaders must evolve from traditional administrative roles into strategic partners, innovators, and change agents within their organisations. She emphasised the need for agile leadership, data-driven decision-making, and people-centred strategies to ensure productivity, inclusivity, and resilience in an increasingly AI-driven workplace.
In her address to the delegates, Ms Rachael also presented an overview of Unicaf’s blended learning model, which is designed to make quality higher education both accessible and affordable. She introduced the Unicaf Corporate Scholarship Scheme (CSS), encouraging HR leaders and departmental heads to consider partnerships that enable employees to pursue further studies. She stressed that investing in staff education not only empowers individuals but also enhances organisational performance, innovation and retention.
Unicaf further engaged participants through its dedicated exhibition booth, which served as a central hub for interaction with HR leaders and prospective learners. The booth showcased Unicaf’s wide range of degree programmes, scholarship opportunities, and the CSS. Delegates had the opportunity to hold one-on-one discussions with Unicaf representatives, generating significant interest and paving the way for follow-up collaborations.
