Unicaf Participates in KAFP Workshop: Unlocking African Philanthropy

Unicaf successfully participated in the Kenya Association of Fundraising Professionals (KAFP) workshop held from 25th to 29th November 2024 at the PrideInn Paradise Beach Resort & Spa in Mombasa. Themed “The Evolution of Africa’s Resource Mobilisation: Past, Present and Future”, the workshop brought together thought leaders, professionals and stakeholders to explore innovative strategies for philanthropy in Africa.

Ms Winnie Rachael, Unicaf Country Manager for Kenya, delivered an inspiring speech that emphasised the transformative power of education in philanthropy. She encouraged KAFP members to seize opportunities through Unicaf scholarships, stating: “Education is the cornerstone of transformative philanthropy. Even amidst busy schedules, Unicaf’s flexible learning model enables KAFP members to acquire the skills needed to drive sustainable impact.”

The highlight of the event was the signing of a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Unicaf and KAFP. This partnership solidifies Unicaf’s role as a key educational partner for fundraising professionals across Eastern Africa, reinforcing its commitment to capacity building and talent development.

The collaboration aligns seamlessly with Unicaf’s mission to empower professionals through accessible, internationally recognised education. By fostering learning opportunities, Unicaf aims to equip individuals and organisations with the tools needed to mobilise resources effectively and sustainably.

This milestone highlights Unicaf’s leadership in education and its dedication to supporting initiatives that drive social impact across Africa.
