Unicaf Champions Women’s Empowerment at Women in Tech Global Africa Summit

Unicaf proudly participated in the Women in Tech Global Africa Summit, held on March 12th at the Nairobi Kempinski. The event served as a key platform for celebrating and advancing women’s roles in the technology sector, bringing together industry leaders, innovators and influencers to discuss challenges, opportunities and strategies for fostering gender equality in tech.

The summit featured keynote addresses, panel discussions and networking sessions designed to empower women and encourage greater female participation in the technology ecosystem. Among the distinguished speakers was Ms Winnie Rachael, Country Manager for Unicaf in Kenya, who highlighted the transformative role of education in bridging the gender gap in tech. She underlined Unicaf’s commitment to supporting women through educational opportunities and scholarships, equipping them with the skills needed to thrive in the industry. Ms Rachael also emphasised the importance of mentorship and collaboration in creating an inclusive and equitable tech environment.

Other notable speakers included Mr Julius Kamau, Chief Operating and Digital Officer of Absa Bank, who stressed the importance of diversity and inclusion in tech and a senior representative from Amazon Web Services (AWS), who reinforced the role of diversity in driving innovation and business success.

Unicaf engaged with over 200 women professionals at the event, strengthening its network within the industry and reinforcing its position as a leading advocate for accessible education. Through strategic branding initiatives and Ms Rachael’s impactful address, Unicaf amplified its message of empowering women through education and professional development.
