Unicaf and Women on Board Network Sign Strategic MoU to Empower Women

Unicaf has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Women on Board Network (WOBN) at its Kenya office, marking the beginning of a strategic partnership aimed at empowering women through access to world-class education.

This collaboration will offer WOBN members access to Unicaf’s internationally recognised degree programmes, delivered in partnership with leading universities in the UK  and Africa. The initiative reinforces both organisations shared commitment to promoting gender equality, professional development, and inclusive leadership across sectors.

The MoU signing ceremony was attended by members of the WOBN community, highlighting the importance of continuous learning, mentorship and strategic opportunities in supporting women’s advancement into executive and board-level roles.

Ms Winnie Rachael, Country Manager of Unicaf in Kenya, described the partnership as a vital step in Unicaf’s ongoing efforts to empower women in leadership: “This partnership with WOBN aligns with our mission to increase access to high-quality higher education. By equipping women with internationally recognised qualifications, we are supporting their upward mobility into leadership and decision-making positions.”

Faith Nkatha, Chairperson of the Finance, Administration, and Partnerships Committee at WOBN, welcomed the partnership, stating: “We are thrilled to collaborate with Unicaf. This partnership directly supports our mission by giving women the educational tools and opportunities they need to succeed in leadership. Together, we are fostering diversity, inclusion, and making a long-lasting impact on women’s careers and communities.”

The partnership between Unicaf and WOBN represents a meaningful step forward in bridging the gender gap in leadership and underlines the power of education in shaping inclusive, empowered futures.
