Nairobi, Kenya – 23rd September 2024 – Unicaf, the leading online higher education provider in Africa, in collaboration with Afribot, successfully hosted the AI and Robotics for Educators Workshop on the 20th and 21st of September 2024 at Cemastea. The two-day workshop, which attracted educators from across Kenya, was designed to equip teachers with the essential knowledge and practical skills needed to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics into their teaching practices.
With a focus on enhancing education through technology, the workshop featured both in-person and virtual participation, providing a dynamic learning environment for educators. The event’s agenda was tailored to deliver a comprehensive understanding of AI’s relevance in modern education, as well as hands-on experience with cutting-edge robotics tools.
Day one of the workshop, held exclusively online, welcomed educators from various regions of the country. This session provided an introduction to AI and robotics, covering the potential applications of these technologies in educational settings. The participants actively engaged in Q&A sessions and interactive online activities, which deepened their understanding of AI’s transformative role in the classroom. Feedback from the attendees highlighted a high level of satisfaction with the relevance, quality, and depth of the content.
On the second day, educators attended both in-person and virtually. This session focused on practical training, allowing participants to gain hands-on experience with AI tools and robotics applications. The in-person attendees had the opportunity to interact directly with the technology, which significantly enhanced their understanding of its real-world applications in education. The combination of online and in-person learning provided a blended approach, ensuring that all participants, regardless of location, could benefit fully from the training.
