Twenty high-profile individuals attended Unicaf University’s Leadership and Management Workshop which was held at the university’s amphitheater in early December 2022. The attendees represented the civil service as well as quasi-governmental institutions such as the Public Service Management Division, the Zambia Police, the Ministry of Energy and the University Teaching Hospital to name just a few of the 13 participating organisations.
Conducted by Unicaf University Zambia Vice-Chancellor, Dr Christine Mushibwe, the aim of the event was to look at the fundamentals of Leadership and Management within an organisation. Essential skills, vital in all leaders and managers, such as effective communication, motivating staff, task delegation as well as adapting to changing priorities and more, were examined, discussed and dissected.
The response to the training workshop proved to be positive amongst the attendees with many suggesting similar quarterly training sessions with topics related to the specific service they provide.
In addition to the above, delegates were introduced to the programmes offered by Unicaf University in Zambia. A lot of interest was generated by the participants who expressed their passion for degrees in Health Sciences, Technology and Engineering at the Bachelor’s level.
