UNICAF partners with UK, US, European and African universities to offer online, quality higher education degrees to students in Africa and the world. Current partners include the University of South Wales (UK), the Marymount California University (USA) and Unicaf University (Africa).
UNICAF operates campuses and learning centres throughout Africa, and is currently present in 11 countries, (Egypt, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Mauritius, Nigeria, Somalia, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Rwanda and Zambia), with plans for further expansion.
The decline in public support for universities, at a time when student visa regulations are getting tougher, creates the opportunity to tap emerging markets through online delivery models; this is a factor universities cannot ignore. UNICAF, through its bespoke partnership model, is aiming to be the catalyst in online education in emerging markets such as sub-Saharan Africa.
Developing economies are not able to cope with increasing numbers of tertiary student enrolments and high costs of building brick and mortar institutions. Online learning is the best possible solution to ensure that access to quality higher education is not limited by geographical location, tuition fees, or lack of access to academic resources.
With recent technological advances, online education can be every bit as effective as traditional classroom teaching. UNICAF’s expertise in quality of delivery and in the provision of an extraordinary online student experience, have turned all UNICAF partnerships into a great success from the beginning.
