Unicaf University Empowers Students Through ‘I Am Remarkable’ Workshops

Unicaf University, in partnership with Butterfly Glow Solutions, proudly hosted two impactful empowerment workshops under the “I Am Remarkable” initiative. The first session took place in person at the Unicaf University campus in Lusaka, Zambia on 14 August, followed by a virtual workshop on 21 August. Both events successfully inspired students to embrace their strengths, celebrate achievements, and confidently articulate their personal and professional value.

The physical workshop welcomed the students, creating an intimate space for deeper discussions, practical exercises, and personalised feedback. Participants described the experience as empowering, highlighting the safe environment that encouraged open sharing and self-reflection.

The virtual session extended the initiative’s reach, attracting a plethora of students from diverse academic programmes and locations. With interactive activities like I Am Remarkable Because, students were able to reflect on their accomplishments, engage with peers across borders, and learn digital-friendly strategies for self-promotion.

Feedback from both sessions was overwhelmingly positive. Students expressed that the workshops boosted their confidence and provided them with valuable tools to express their strengths clearly in classrooms, interviews, and professional settings. Many participants noted that they now feel better equipped for career growth, leadership opportunities, and networking.

Unicaf University’s Vice-Chancellor, Dr Christine Mushibwe, and Dean of Student Affairs, Abigail N. Chalwe, both emphasised the importance of such initiatives in shaping well-rounded graduates.

By hosting both physical and virtual formats, Unicaf University has demonstrated its commitment to fostering confidence, resilience, and self-expression among its students. The “I Am Remarkable” workshops underscored the university’s vision to empower learners not only academically, but also personally and professionally.
