Hofstede’s cultural dimension uncertainty avoidance on online dating platforms – in the time of coronavirus

This is a qualitative research about love, lies, trust propensity linking them to Hofstede ‘s (2021) cultural dimension Uncertainty Avoidance’ perfomed during the coronavirus pandemic, from February 2020 unti November 2021. There is a link between Hofstede’s cultural dimension of ‘Uncerainty Avoidance’ and emotions one of which is love (Schmitt et al, 2009). It is aiso about honesty, trust. lies, and deception. Tthe main research question is: How to avoid the uncertainty (Corriero & Tong, 2016) that exists in new encounters on online dating platforms? tow to make them safer? Is it possible to trust people on online dating platforms? ICT-Information Communication Technology (Floridi, 2020) and especialy online dating platforms have experienced an increase in use during the coronavirus pandemic 2020/2021. due to social distancing measures during the pandemic. What is the outlook for the future? What kind of online dating platform do we need to use in order to avoid the uncertainty in new encounters? With digitalisation being the big winner of the 2020/2021 coronavirus pandemic (Schinzel, 2021a,b), what are crucial parameters for a safer future (Harari, 2020)? What are the dangers behind ICT (Harari, 2020)?
