Nairobi, Kenya – 29th March 2025Unicaf was honoured to participate in the prestigious SheLogistics & Transport Association Gala Dinner held at the Tamarind Tree Hotel, Nairobi. The event marked the official launch of SheLogistics, a transformative initiative dedicated to advancing women’s representation and opportunities within the transport and logistics sector.

The gala brought together distinguished industry leaders, professionals, and gender equality advocates, all committed to empowering women in this traditionally male-dominated field. Unicaf’s participation underscored its steadfast dedication to education, skills development, and leadership empowerment for women striving to excel in various industries.

Winnie Rachael, Country Manager for Unicaf in Kenya, addressed the attendees, emphasising Unicaf’s commitment to supporting women’s advancement through accessible and quality higher education. She highlighted the vital role that education plays in equipping women with the necessary skills to succeed in the transport and logistics sector.

Hon. Harriette Chiggai, Special Advisor on Women’s Rights to the President of Kenya, commended the launch of SheLogistics as a pivotal moment in gender inclusivity within the industry. She highlighted the need for continued support and collaboration to ensure that women have the resources and opportunities to lead and innovate in logistics.

Hon. Millie Odhiambo Mabona, Member of the Kenyan Parliament, echoed these sentiments, stating that the establishment of the SheLogistics Transport Association marks a significant milestone in creating a supportive platform for women in logistics. She called for Unicaf’s participation in the SheLogistics Gala Dinner reaffirmed its role as a key player in promoting gender equality, skills development, and professional advancement. The event not only celebrated the achievements of women in logistics but also inspired a collective commitment to fostering an inclusive and empowering environment within the sector.
