Job satisfaction and motivation among teachers in secondary school were important for teaching effectiveness and job commitment. There was very little literature on this topic in Hong Kong. This study was significant not only in its reflection of teachers’ motivation in secondary school, but also have broader implications for principals to reduce the job pressure and non-satisfaction of teachers and remove obstacles for their psychological health. The objectives of the study were found out teachers in secondary school’ level of motivation, identified factors that lead to motivation amongst teachers and determined the relationship between motivation and teachers’ satisfaction with their job in Hong Kong. It was conducted on 355 teachers in secondary school by online self-administrated questionnaire with stratified and simple random sampling. A descriptive analysis by SPSS version 25 was performed concerning different facets of job satisfaction and motivation. Independent t test had been used for significant difference analyses for various demographic variables.
