Unicaf participated in the Kenya Teachers SACCOs Association (KETSA) 5th Annual Leaders’ Summit, held from 23rd to 27th February 2026 at the Grand Royal Swiss Hotel. The high-level gathering brought together CEOs, board members, and leaders from Teachers’ SACCOs across the country under the theme, “Innovation and Impact: SACCOs as the Ultimate One-Stop Shop.”
The summit provided an important platform for dialogue on how SACCOs can expand their value propositions to members through innovation, strategic partnerships, and sustainable impact initiatives. Unicaf’s participation aligned closely with this vision, highlighting education as a transformative tool for professional growth and community development.
Throughout the summit, Unicaf engaged participants at its exhibition stand and during dedicated networking sessions. Ms Winnie Rachael, Country Manager, Unicaf, Kenya, addressed the plenary, presenting detailed information about Unicaf’s internationally recognised programmes, generous scholarship opportunities, and flexible online learning model designed for working professionals.
Particular emphasis was placed on how SACCO CEOs can leverage Unicaf scholarships as a value-added benefit for their members. By facilitating access to affordable higher education, SACCOs can strengthen member satisfaction, support professional advancement, and enhance their overall institutional impact.
The presentation was positively received, with SACCO leaders expressing strong interest in structured collaboration frameworks that would enable their members to pursue undergraduate and postgraduate studies without disrupting their professional responsibilities.
A major milestone achieved during the summit was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Unicaf and the Kenya Teachers SACCOs Association.
The agreement formalises a collaborative framework aimed at extending scholarship opportunities to SACCO members nationwide. This strategic partnership positions Unicaf as a trusted education partner within Kenya’s SACCO sector and reinforces a shared commitment to empowering educators and financial cooperative members through accessible higher education.
