Unicaf Shines at ASSEK Annual Conference 2025

Unicaf took an active role in the ASSEK Annual Conference and Innovation Awards 2025, held from 13–14 November at Emara Ole-Sereni, Nairobi. The event brought together leading voices from across Africa’s innovation ecosystem, including entrepreneurs, academics, industry experts, corporate leaders, and policymakers.

Ms Winnie Rachael, Country Manager, Unicaf, Kenya, participated as a panelist in the high-level discussion “Strengthening Academia Collaboration in Africa for Innovation and Skills Development.” During the session, she highlighted key priorities essential for advancing education and innovation across the continent, including:

  • Improving affordable access to higher education
  • Leveraging flexible learning models to support working professionals
  • Building stronger partnerships between universities, innovation hubs, and industry to enhance employability and accelerate innovation

Her contribution positioned Unicaf as a pivotal stakeholder in shaping collaborative, skills-driven approaches to higher education and innovation in Kenya and beyond.

Throughout the conference, the Unicaf team also engaged with several strategic partners, including representatives from Women in Real Estate (WIRE), exploring opportunities for future collaboration.

A major milestone of the event was the formal signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Unicaf and ASSEK, symbolising a strengthened commitment to fostering innovation, research, and academic growth within the Kenyan ecosystem.

Unicaf’s presence at the ASSEK Annual Conference and Innovation Awards 2025 highlighted the organisation’s ongoing mission to expand access to affordable, high-quality higher education while forging strong, innovation-driven partnerships. Through impactful participation, meaningful engagements, and the signing of the MOU with ASSEK, Unicaf further solidified its visibility, credibility, and influence within Kenya’s dynamic innovation landscape.
