Unicaf and the Public Relations Society of Malawi (PRSM) have formalised a strategic partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 30 September 2025 at the Unicaf University campus in Lilongwe. The ceremony also featured the handover of a sponsorship cheque from Unicaf in support of the 2025 PR Annual Conference, scheduled to take place in Mzuzu from 30 October to 2 November 2025.
The MoU establishes a framework for collaboration between the two organisations, aiming to enhance professional development, knowledge sharing, and practical opportunities for students and professionals in the field of public relations and communications.
Dr Robert Ridley, Vice-Chancellor of Unicaf University, Malawi, represented Unicaf at the signing. The PRSM delegation included Grace Hara, Treasurer General, Thomas Chafunya, Exco Member, and Bright Sonani, Executive Director.
The partnership reflects a shared commitment to advancing the standards and visibility of public relations in Malawi, while supporting emerging talent through education and professional engagement. The sponsorship of the PR Annual Conference further demonstrates Unicaf’s dedication to nurturing the country’s next generation of communications leaders.
