Unicaf and Liberty Life Sign Strategic MoU to Empower Staff through Higher Education

Unicaf has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Liberty Life Kenya, marking the beginning of a partnership focused on enhancing staff capacity development through access to affordable, internationally recognised higher education programmes.

The MoU was signed at Liberty’s Nairobi offices by Mr Kieran Godden, CEO of Liberty Kenya Holdings PLC; Mr Felix Ochieng, General Manager – Human Resources, Heritage Insurance and Liberty Life Assurance; and Ms Winnie Rachael, Country Manager of Unicaf Kenya.

Through this partnership, Liberty Life employees and their families will have the opportunity to pursue higher education via Unicaf’s leading and prestigious partner universities with the support of a generous Unicaf Scholarship. Staff can enrol in internationally recognised Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctoral degree programmes delivered online, making it easier to balance studies with work and personal commitments. This initiative is designed to strengthen professional skills, open new career pathways, and contribute to personal and organisational growth.

Speaking during the ceremony, Mr Kieran Godden, CEO of Liberty Kenya Holdings, said:
“This is a great milestone for Liberty Life. It is more than just a partnership; it is an investment in the growth and future of our people. By giving our staff access to such educational opportunities, we are empowering them to reach their full potential and contribute meaningfully to the success of our business.”

Ms Winnie Rachael, Country Manager of Unicaf Kenya, emphasised the shared vision behind the collaboration:
At Unicaf, we are deeply committed to supporting organisations like Liberty in upskilling and reskilling their workforce. This partnership is not just about education – it is about unlocking opportunities, improving career trajectories, and fostering long-term impact within organisations and communities.”

The signing of this MoU demonstrates Unicaf’s ongoing mission to expand access to quality higher education, helping organisations and individuals alike to achieve their goals. By working together, Unicaf and Liberty Life Kenya are creating impactful opportunities that empower staff, strengthen businesses, and uplift communities.
