Unicaf proudly participated in the IHRM 6th Women in HR Convention, held at Sawela Lodges, Naivasha, from March 23rd to 28th, 2025. This prestigious event served as a vital platform for empowering women leaders and fostering inclusive, innovative and sustainable organisational growth.
The convention brought together distinguished HR and leadership experts through impactful keynote speeches, interactive panel discussions and insightful case studies. Among the notable speakers was Mrs Mary W. Kimonye, CBS, Vice Chairperson of the Public Service Commission of Kenya, who emphasised the transformative role of women in HR:
“Women in HR have long been at the forefront of workplace transformation, yet their influence extends far beyond policies and processes. You are the designers of culture, champions of equity and catalysts for lasting change in leadership. Looking around this room, I see not just HR professionals but visionaries who are reshaping our organisations, our economy, and indeed, our nation.”
Representing Unicaf, Ms Winnie Rachael, Country Manager for Kenya, addressed over 200 HR professionals, reinforcing Unicaf’s commitment to empowering women through education:
“I encourage women to take full advantage of the partnership Unicaf has established, providing scholarships for their studies and extending this opportunity to their families. As women continue to fill these spaces, it’s essential to recognise that without education, nobody can move forward. Education is the key to unlocking opportunities for growth and progress.”
Throughout the convention, Ms Rachel actively engaged with HR professionals, showcasing the extensive scholarship opportunities Unicaf offers to support women and their families in accessing quality higher education. Unicaf remains dedicated to equipping women with the knowledge and skills necessary to drive meaningful change in the workplace and beyond.
