Unicaf proudly participated as a key sponsor at the 24th Kenya Model United Nations (KenyaMUN) Conference, held from 10th to 14th March 2025 at the United Nations Office in Nairobi (UNON), Gigiri. Under the theme “Trailblazing Action for Today & Tomorrow”, the event brought together young leaders from across the region to engage in global diplomacy and leadership discussions.
The conference was officially opened by Hon. Kalonzo Musyoka, Former Vice-President of Kenya, who delivered an inspiring address on the importance of youth leadership in shaping global progress. Other distinguished speakers included Mrs Zainab Hawa Bangura, Director-General of UNON, who gave the keynote address, and Hon. Lady Justice Njoki Ndung’u, Supreme Court Judge, who provided insights on legal frameworks for sustainable development. Additionally, ambassadors and UN officials shared valuable perspectives on international relations and governance.
Unicaf’s presence at KenyaMUN highlighted its commitment to empowering youth through accessible, high-quality education. Winnie Rachael, Unicaf’s Country Manager for Kenya, delivered an impactful speech, challenging young leaders to take bold action in shaping their futures. She urged delegates to embrace challenges, take risks, and cultivate resilience, emphasising that success comes from continuous learning and perseverance. Ms Rachael inspired attendees to lead with purpose, seek meaningful mentorship and build a legacy based on real impact rather than social validation.
Her closing message was a call to action: break barriers, shatter ceilings, and rewrite the rules – because trailblazers don’t wait for the future; they create it.
Unicaf remains dedicated to providing opportunities for aspiring leaders through its world-class online education platform, offering scholarships for internationally recognised degree programmes.
