Uganda - Essay Competition
Unicaf University is proud to announce an essay competition, endorsed by the Ministry of Education and Sports, targeting final year students in both private and public schools across the country. This competition aims to challenge high school students through creative writing to describe their perceived Pearl that is Uganda.
The topic of the essay competition is “The Pearl Reimagined: A Visual Tour Through Uganda’s Stunning Landscapes.” Students have an opportunity to reference their travels across the different parts of Uganda and describe their memorable experiences in any of the local tourist sites.
The five winners of the competition will be chosen by a panel of judges. The prizes are as follows:
- 1st winner: Full scholarship plus 150 USD plus a Tablet
- 2nd winner: Full scholarship plus 100 USD plus a Tablet
- 3rd winner: 90% scholarship plus 100 USD plus a Tablet
- 4th winner: 100 USD
- 5th winner: 100 USD
The top 3 participating schools will also win a cash prize.
Competition Rules:
- Essays must be written in the English language
- Essays must not exceed 500 words
- Essays must use 1.5 spacing, size 12 fonts, Times New Roman
Submissions MUST include the following information:
- Name of student
- Name of school
- Address of school
- Telephone number of school (if available)
- Email address of school (if available)
- Name and telephone number of parent/guardian
We encourage all final year students in both private and public sectors to participate in this competition and showcase their writing skills while highlighting the beauty of Uganda.
