Dr Elena Papadopoulou

Dr Elena Papadopoulou is a psychoneurolinguist, the Pro Vice Chancellor (Doctoral Studies and Research) (Federal) and the Co-Programme Leader of the BA in English Language and Literature. She is a holder of a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Cyprus and a Master’s in Language Acquisition from the University of Essex. She has received her PhD in Linguistics from the University of Essex and has worked as a post-doctoral researcher with the University of Cyprus for more than 4 years. She coordinated the research activities of the Cyprus Acquisition Team for 8 years and participated as a Project Manager and Principal Investigator on a number of projects, while gaining more than ten years of experience in the education, theoretical and applied research sectors. She has collaborated with many scholars and published widely in ranked and indexed top tier journals, within the areas of language acquisition, language disorders, neurolinguistics, and language variation and change. She has also worked with monolingual, bilingual and multilingual children and adults with typical and atypical development.
