The Sir Arthur Lewis Community College (SALCC), is St. Lucia’s lone indigenous tertiary level institution, emphasizing almost unrestricted access once qualification requirements are met. These requirements exclude assessing readiness for college, giving the misconception that meeting entry requirements equates to preparedness. Some students transition successfully but many fail to adjust and decline in academic performance.  This study empirically explores key transition challenges and factors affecting sustainable academic performance at SALCC and identifies strategic interventions for addressing the problem of academic performance decline. Objectives include identifying student and school-based factors on students’ sustainable academic performance and examining the extent of the…

The Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST) has been challenged to fully realise the advantages of the university’s learning management system. NUST implemented the Modular Object-Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment (Moodle) in 2011; however, students’ performance levels have not increased as anticipated. The theoretical framework that underpinned this study included Khan’s Octagonal Framework, the Orbital E-Education Framework and The Community of Inquiry Theory. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effective use of Moodle as a learning management at NUST. Within the context of a pragmatic research paradigm, this study used a sequential explanatory study…
