Unicaf University Zambia Organises Symposium on Trade and Investment

Lusaka, Zambia, 17th February, 2022 – A delegation of 50 participants, including senior government officials and representatives from the US Embassy to Zambia, attended a meeting organised by Unicaf University which was held at the Commerce and Trade Symposium. The theme of the event was Zambian trade and investment with the emphasis on enabling businesses to evolve and develop. 

The meeting took the form of a question and answer session whereby The Minister of Commerce, Trade and Industry, the Honorable Chipoka Mulenga, was interviewed by a moderator from the American Chamber of Commerce in Zambia (AmCham). 

High on the agenda were policy matters affecting the state of the commerce industry in which the Minister assured the attendees of the government’s direction. The Minister emphasized the need to grow small to medium enterprises (SME’s) in Zambia through access to finance and shared the government’s plans regarding businesses in the private sector.

The Minister also called for strong partnership between local and foreign investment for long term economic growth. Zambia’s economic growth aspirations are guided by the Vision 2030, which is “To become a prosperous middle income nation by 2030.”
