All the universities included in this portal are officially accredited or recognised higher education institutions.

In collaboration with UNESCO, the portal serves as a unique online reference tool that provides authoritative information on recognised higher education institutions (HEIs) around the world, systems and credentials. Since its foundation in 1950, the IAU has been mapping the higher education landscape as one of its central tasks.

This is another significant milestone for Unicaf University that adds even greater value to its credibility as a leading provider of online, quality higher education.

Accreditation

Unicaf University is a licensed university in Malawi and Zambia and is also approved to recruit students in Kenya.

Unicaf University in Zambia is accredited by the Higher Education Authority (HEA). Unicaf University in Malawi is accredited by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE). Unicaf University campuses in Zambia and Malawi are also accredited by the British Accreditation Council (BAC) as Independent Higher Education Providers.

Memberships

Unicaf University is a member of the United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI) and as a member of the International Council for Open and Distance Education (ICDE) the University is working towards making high quality education accessible for all. 

The University is a full member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), the world’s oldest international University network established in 1913 in the UK.  The Association provides avenues for collaboration and cooperation among members in developing and sharing good practice for international higher education.

Unicaf University is a signatory of the UN’s Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) initiative. It is committed to transforming its teaching, research in support of universal values of sustainability, responsibility, and ethics.

Unicaf and Unicaf University are both institutional members of the Advance HE organisation, which is dedicated to supporting leadership and effective governance, tackle inequalities, and enhance teaching and learning in the HE sector.  Furthermore, Unicaf organisation is a member of the European Distance and E-Learning Network – EDEN. Our campus in Malawi is also a member of  the Association of African Universities (AAU).
